Biography:
Anna Jesinowicz-Nguyen was born in 1956 in Głogów, Poland. She graduated from the Faculty of Art Conservation and Restoration at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow in 1980. Since 1999 she has collaborated with the “Na Jatkach” Gallery in Wrocław, Poland. She designs artistic textile, uses her own designs, copies the masters of Gobelin tapestry and creates portraits using Gobelin tapestry technique and embroidery technique. She has participated in group exhibitions and solo exhibitions such as: the “Poezja i sploty” exhibition in Wrocław in 2004; the “Sploty duszy” exhibition in Jelenia Góra, Poland and Chojnów, Poland in 2007; the “Lemberg…” permanent exhibition at Sala Ślubów in Lwówek Śląski, Poland in 2007; the “Gobeliny ocalone od zapomnienia” exhibition in Wrocław in 2010; the “Z pamiętnika Penelopy” exhibition in Wrocław in 2012; the “Tkanina artystyczna” exhibition in Jastrzębie Zdrój, Poland in 2012; and the “Oswoić przemijanie. Portret Tkacki” in Warsaw in 2016. Recently she has participated in many group exhibitions, such as: the “ALE tkanina” exhibition in the Centre of Weaving Traditions in Prudnik in 2013; the “Praca kobiety nigdy się nie kończy” exhibition in the International Cultural Centre in Cracow and in Pomerenian Dukes’ Castle in Szczecin in 2013; and the “XL lat Sztuki Włókna w Kowarach i na Dolnym Śląsku 1974-2014” jubilee exhibition in the Central Museum of Textiles in Łódź in 2014. Anna’s awards and distinctions: the 4th and 5th “Z krosna do Krosna” International Artistic Linen Cloth Biennial in the Museum of Crafts in Krosno – 2nd Prize in 2006 and distinctions in 2008, 2010 and 2011; the Polish National Exhibition of Miniature Textile in Łódź – nomination for the Prize in 2013.
