Biography:

Galyna Vyhovanska was born in 1960 in Lvov, Ukraine. She graduated from the Trush Decorative and Applied Art College in Lvov in 1982. Since 1990 she has been a member of the Ukrainian Visual Artists Union and also from 1998 the Ukrainian National Visual Artists Union. Galyna has worked as assistant manager in the Children's Folk Art School since 1994 and as director since 1997. In 2008 she was awarded the “Lider Grupy Methodology” title. She works with artistic textiles and painting. Her works are compact and refer to folk art. Since 1984 Galyna has participated in numerous solo exhibitions and group exhibitions in Ukraine and abroad.
