Motto: The Icelandic nature has been the influential in my art. I have sought inspiration in nature and worked from it in an abstract way. These are memory fragments of elements in nature where the combination of material and method is an important factor. My favourite theme is the fire that burns in the core of the earth, the fire’s mark when it bursts to the earth’s surface, the complex shapes and colour play of the lava that it leaves behind. It is great to be able to use old traditional material like the flax and morph into modern textile.
