Jolanta Wdowczyk (pseudonym Jolanta WU) was born in 1962 in Kalisz. She studied at Jan Długosz University in Częstochowa in the years 1981-1986. In 1990, she completed post-graduate studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. She obtained her doctoral degree in the field of fine arts in 1998. Since 1990, she has been working at the Faculty of Law and Administration of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. Since 2007, he has been running her own Graphic Design Studio. The artist has worked in painting, drawing, photography, broadly understood graphics and textile art. She has organized 20 individual exhibitions and participated in over 130 group exhibitions in Poland and abroad. She is a member of the Textile Section of the Warsaw District of the Association of Polish Artists and Designers. Her selected awards and honours include: Diploma Excellence, VI International Graphic Annual, Stockholm, Sweden (2002); Grand Prix – “Z krosna do Krosna” 7th International Artistic Linen Cloth Biennial, Museum of Crafts in Krosno (2012); 1st Prize – ART-EXPO, Hautmont, France (2013); A. Sienkiewicz's 2nd Prize – 42. Międzynarodowa Wystawa Sztuki Włókna, Muzeum Tkactwa, Kamienna Góra (2016); Honourable Mention – 45. Międzynarodowa Wystawa Sztuki Włókna, Muzeum Tkactwa, Kamienna Góra (2019).
