Biography: Anna Śliwińska has completed her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. She has obtained her diploma in 1994 at the Faculty of Painting in Prof. Jerzy Nowosielski’s Studio and in the Studio of Textile Art under the tuition of Prof. Ryszard Kwiecień and Prof. Lilli Balls and obtained her Diploma Annex in the Book Design and Typography Studio under the tuition of Prof. Roman Banaszewski. In 2012, she was a PhD student at the Faculty of Painting at her alma mater. The artist has been a member of the Association of Polish Artists and Designers/Kraków District, Ogólnopolskie Stowarzyszenie Twórcze “Wiklina”, the “Structure” Club of the Association of Polish Artists and Designers/Kraków District and a co-creator of the “Grupa Sztuki 4”. Since 1997, the artist has been involved in the International Book Art Festival. Anna Śliwińska has been a curator of exhibitions, a participant in over 90 exhibitions in Poland and abroad as well as an organiser of over 40 individual exhibitions. The artist was granted the Minister of Culture and National Heritage scholarship (2000, 2003) and the City of Tarnów scholarship (2015, 2018). She has won awards and distinctions in her artistic career. Since 1995, she has been professionally connected with the Complex of Art Schools in Tarnów where she has been a teacher Drawing and Painting. Since 2016, she is also an academic lecturer at The University of Applied Sciences in Tarnów and the University of Technology in Katowice. The areas of Anna Śliwińska's creative activities are painting, drawing, object art, unique fabric, book art (art book, illustration).
