Katarzyna Szymańska is an artist and fashion designer by education. She graduated from two faculties of the Academy of Fine Arts: Interior Architecture in Warsaw and the Faculty of Textile and Clothing in Łódź. It is the fabric that occurs in these two areas and is the subject of the designer's artistic deliberations and fascinates her the most. She is a lecturer in fashion design with arts & crafts techniques at the MSKPU fashion school in Warsaw and runs individual artistic knitting workshops. In the area of luxury fashion, she has created a recognizable brand of unique luxury knitted fabrics SZYMANSKA Luxury Handmade Knitwear. The artist works in the field of unique fabrics and soft sculpture. Katarzyna Szymańska has belonged to the Textile Section of The Association of Polish Artists and Designers/Warsaw District and to the Positive Art creative group.

Fascynuje mnie korzeń, jego podziemna droga, jego ukryta rola, przedziwny kształt i jego połączenie z ziemią, z której czerpie. Przynoszę go z lasu i z namaszczeniem oczyszczam, a potem bandażuję włóczką. Na koniec osadzam go na honorowym miejscu, wplatam w dziwne kwiaty, które powstają z mojej dzianiny.
