Katarzyna Mądrzycka-Adamczyk is an artist, educator, culture animator, activist, accessibility leader. She is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź, Faculty of Textile and Fashion, received her diploma with honours in 2006. She has participated, among others, in the exhibitions: II Textile Art Biennial in Poznań (2019), “Z krosna do Krosna” International Artistic Linen Cloth Biennial (2012, 2014, 2016, 2018), the National Exhibition of the Polish Tapestry (2013, 2016), the International Biennial of Painting and Unique Fabrics (2013), the National Exhibition of the Polish Miniature Textiles (2010). Her work “Poczuj (Feel)”, which enables a multi-sensory experience of fabric, can be found in the space of the exhibition “Metamorfizm” by Magdalena Abakanowicz at the Central Museum of Textiles. She is also the creator of the artistic project “Ja, Kosmos” (since 2012), to which everyone can get involved by donating a button / bead. The documentation of the “crochet selfie” can be found at www.facebook.com/ja.kosmos.kma. Katarzyna Mądrzycka-Adamczyk is the author of essays “Szydełko w akcji” published in the “Silne” aperiodic. She has organised several artistic actions (“action crochetings”) involving collective knitting (including the banners: “SIOSTRZEŃSTWO!”, “EMPATIA”, EKOFEMINIZM”). In her individual artistic work, private subjects intertwine with public and political ones: :”Ja czuję!” (2020), ”Tort na stulecie praw wyborczych Kobiet w Polsce 1918-2018” (2018), ”Poczuj” (2018), ”Ja dziergam a tu kipi!” (2013), ”Ja dziergam a świat WRZE!” (2019), ”Damski bokser” (2013), ”Kura domowa” (2012). The object “Rower Power”* is about the unbridled exploration of natural resources and individual decisions regarding, for example, transport. On the other hand, the work shows that nature is able to revive if a man does not interfere with it.
