Biography: Ewa Cieniak is a graduate of the European Academy of Arts in Warsaw at the Faculty of Workshop Graphics. After several years of work in advertising agencies, she has returned to art. She embroiders, creates installations, and experiments with the use of various materials and fabrics. She is currently working on a participatory art project O_KRĘGI, to which she invites women of all ages, from different environments and cities. She goes out with artistic activities and her creativity into public, urban and nature spaces. Ewa Cieniak has received a scholarship from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage twice. In 2020, she received the “Kultura w sieci” scholarship and within it she created an animated embroidered film entitled “TABULA RASA”. Ewa Cieniak implemented the “Panorama miasteczka” scholarship project in 2021. It is a hand-embroidered textile over 21 meters long and 1 meter wide, which is a collective portrait of the inhabitants of Koluszki, the artist’s hometown. Ewa Cieniak has created an open-air gallery called “Three Roe Deer” in the village Frydrychów, near Koluszki. She presents her projects as well as other artists’ works in the gallery. In 2022, the first artist-in-residence will take place in “Three Roe Deer”.
