Maria Teresa Chojnacka was born 14 June, 1931 in Warsaw. Education: Public Academy of Arts in Gdańsk – Prof. Aleksander Kobzdej’s studio (1950-51), Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw – Prof. Eleonora Plutyńska’s studio (1951-55), Prof. Anna Śledziewska’s studio (1954-55). She graduated from the Department of Textile at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (1956). In the years 1967-87 she studied at the Postgraduate Ethnography Studies at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. In the years 1963-67 she was the artistic manager of the Folk and Art Industrial Cooperative "Świdry Wielkie" in Otwock. In 1964-68 she did research work for the Institute of Industrial Design in Warsaw. In 1979-87 she was a lecturer of weaving techniques at the Volkshochschule Biberach/Riss in Germany. She works in textile art. She creates uninterruptedly, using original weaving solutions, including her own weaving relief. He belongs to the Experimental Workshop of Artistic Weaving Textile Section at The Association of Polish Artists and Designers/Warsaw District. She is the author of several dozen individual exhibitions, a participant of over one hundred collective exhibitions in Poland and around the world, and a laureate of numerous awards and distinctions.
