Katarzyna C. Marciniak was born in 1970 in Łomża, Poland. She graduated from the Institute of Artistic Education specialising in workshop graphics at the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin. She achieved a diploma degree under the tuition of prof. Stanisław Górecki in the Studio of Drawing in 1995. She is a member of the Association of Polish Artists and Designers – the Polish Applied Art in Warsaw. She received the City of Gdańsk Artistic Scholarship in 2017. For many years she has tried to find her own way to express herself in her weaving works. She runs her own silk workshop, where she focuses on educational activities. The artist is involved in composing a cycle of works mainly silk ones in ecoprint technique, In the cycle named “Ślady” (eng. Traces), she uses for her painting only “nature”. This initial inspiration that had been visible in her drawings and graphics, transformed into “painting” textile with plants. She has participated in many solo and group exhibitions in Lublin, Gdańsk, Łomża, Rzeszów, Milanówek, Ciechanowiec, and Warszawa, Poland.
